1 Unlock the cottage door with the brass key. Take the lantern and open the cabinet to find thesteel key. Use this to unlock the door leading west.
1 Touch the altar and a panel will open to reveal an old leather bound book. Open and read it to learn how to get rid of Xanos (the baddie).
1 To return to the cottage you will have to climb over a fence,so read location descriptions carefully.
1 To get back inside the crypt move the gargoyle. Climb the rope and go south.
1 To destroy the winged guard- ian of Xanos throw the phial at him.
1 Throw the rope and it will catch on the side of a hole. Feel the wall and pull the lever. Take and wear the cross.
1 There appears to be no exits out of here but if you climb a tree, a brown owl will explain that you can leave but only if you are carrying the right item.

1 Pull a panel in the dusty room to find a pouch. Open it and inside will be a gold key which will unlock the chest.

1 Once over the fence examine the cottage and climb the drain-pipe.

1 If you examine the room whereyou see an ornate desk you will discover a carpet. Lifting this will uncover a trapdoor which you should open.

1 Go back into the smelly pass-age and feel the floor again. Feel wall of crypt and pull lever.
1 Go back in the cottage and move the grandfather clock. You are now in a smelly passage. Feel the floor and you will fallthrough a hidden trapdoor into acrypt.
1 Fill the phial with holy water from the font.
1 Examine the well then examine the stones. They are held together by some kind of loam. Scratch loam with the nail and take the stone.
1 Examine the grave and a blue mist will appear and assume the shape of an ancient Celtic warrior. You must be carrying the mistletoe or he will not letyou dig. Since you are, you willuncover a rib.
1 Examine the floor in the large cellar and slide the slab to reveal a flight of stone steps leading down.
1 Examine and break the glass jar to find the preserved heart of Xanos. We now need to find a way of destroying it.
